Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 5 to 7 tart apples
  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 pre-prepared or homemade 2 crust pastry piepan

Directions

  1. Prepare your favorite 2 crust pastry and set aside.
  2. Pare apples and slice thin; add sugar mixed with flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Fill 9 to 12 inch pastry lined piepan. Dot with butter.
  4. Adjust top crust and Bake in hot oven at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
  5. Then, in moderate oven, 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes.
  6. If apples are not tart, sprinkle 1 Tbsp. of lemon juice. Serve.

    Very good with ice cream or whipped cream.
